Baseball Loses Second Matchup of Two-Game Series at No. 18 Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team lost the final game of a two-game set at No. 18 Rollins College, 12-4, on Tuesday in Alfond Stadium. The Tars' national ranking is according to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

THE ACTION
  • First-year Jerry Guzman (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Brunswick School) put the Purple Knights up 1-0 in the top of the first inning with a two-out RBI single to center field, scoring Balian.
  • Rubin doubled in the home half of the inning to score Furry and tie the game at one.
  • Tetta drove in Arsenault in the top of the second on a single to center field to give the Purple and Gold a 2-1 lead before Furry hit a solo home run in the bottom half of the third inning to tie it.
  • The Tars knocked in four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-2 lead, scoring three times with two down.
  • Furry went deep again in the sixth, and Balian drove in one more run for the Purple Knights in the top of the seventh, but the hosts scored four runs in the home half of the seventh and one in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
