Softball Splits Doubleheader at Eckerd, Earns Mercy-Rule Victory in Nightcap

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College softball team split five-inning decisions with Eckerd College on Thursday at the Turley Athletic Complex, taking the nightcap, 12-4, after losing the opener, 11-3.

  • Senior Jenna Devens (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) tied Casey Brooks' '07 program record for career walks (61) while extending her school marks for home runs (22) and RBI (90) and pushing her career hit total to 150, a mark previously reached by only three other Purple Knights.
  • Junior Isabelle Priest (Saint Johnsbury, Vt./Lyndon Institute) picked up her first college hit in the opener during her second career at bat.

  • The Tritons scored three runs on three run-scoring hits in the first inning before a pair of RBI hits with two out in the second made it 5-0.
