LEESBURG, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College softball team closed a 12-game Spring Break trip to Florida by splitting Northeast-10 Conference foe Saint Anselm College during a non-league The Spring Games doubleheader on Friday at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex. The Purple Knights won a 7-2 decision in the first contest, their initial series victory since 2017, before losing the nightcap, 5-1.

- Senior Jenna Devens (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) walked twice to break a tie with Casey Brooks '07 (61) for the program's walks record. Devens now has 63 bases on balls.
- Between the Purple Knights' second game on Thursday at Eckerd College and opener today, first-year Brooke Bishop (Florida, Mass./Drury) picked up hits in seven consecutive at bats.
- The Purple Knights defeated sophomore Sam Ryan, who entered the day 7-0 with a 2.09 earned run average, during the opener while holding senior Sam Wiberg, who was third in the nation with a .531 batting average, to a 1-for-7 showing in the twinbill.

THE ACTION
- Devens doubled home Edgerly and scored on Bishop's RBI single to make it 2-0 in the top of the first inning.
- Edgerly led off the third with a triple and came around on Devens' sac fly.
- Saint Anselm got on the board when Wironen's two-out, two-run single plated a pair of unearned runs, but the Hawks left two in scoring position to remain down 3-2.
- The Purple Knights countered with four runs on four hits in the sixth. Bishop legged out an infield RBI single and Davidson drew a bases-loaded walk in the frame.

THE ACTION
- Brooke Tardugno stole home on the back end of a double steal in the top of the first inning before sophomore Jamie Calkins knocked an RBI single and senior Sam Wiberg added a sac fly in a two-run second.
- Saint Michael's put together sustained threats in the second, third and fifth innings, stranding a pair of runners both frames while benefiting from Davidson's RBI single in the third to cut the deficit to 3-1.
- Brooke Tardugno scored on Arsenault's infield single in the seventh before Stephanie Tardugno plated the final run on a sac fly.
- Nickerson and Davidson both singled in the home half for the Purple Knights, who were unable to bring the tying run to the plate before Lee induced a game-ending groundout.
