COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's basketball first-year Margaret Montplaisir (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth) was among five student-athletes named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team on Wednesday, as chosen by the league's head coaches. A Purple Knight earned the accolade for the second consecutive season after current sophomore Amber Furch (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood School) landed the laurel last winter.

Montplaisir averaged 6.0 points and 2.6 rebounds from her guard spot while knocking down 29 three-pointers. She made all but one of her 27 appearances off the bench while scoring in double figures three times, including netting a season-best 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting at Daemen University on Nov. 17. Montplaisir added 1.3 assists during her final 18 games while contributing 20 steals for the season. She buried at least one three-pointer in 17 different games.

Thanks to winning six of seven games between late January and early February, the Purple Knights surged into a home postseason spot, claiming the No. 8 seed and the right to host their first NE10 Championship contest in 14 years. Saint Michael's relied heavily upon underclass players this winter while yielding fewer than 50 points eight times.
