GAME FACTS
  • Simonson pushed his career goal total to 128, eclipsing Pete Donnally's '13 12-year-old school record (127) by a single tally. Already the program's record holder in career points, Simonson departed his home finale with 199 with two regular-season games and potential postseason contests remaining.
  • After no Purple Knight had scored eight goals in a game since 1992, both Reyes and Simonson have turned the feat this year, each coming within one of Ray Roch's '87 school record, set on April 19, 1986.
  • Regan took over sole possession of fourth place in program history in career wins (19), snapping a tie with Mike Marino '97.
  • Reyes pushed his career point total to 125, good for 13th in school annals and within eight of the program's top 10 despite netting only seven points as a first-year.
THE ACTION
  • Reyes completed a hat trick by the time Saint Michael's led 4-1 at 14:53 of the second quarter, and he and Simonson both lent a goal and an assist on the next two host tallies to make it 6-2 by 9:36.
  • Goode posted a goal and an assist in a 3-0 AIC spurt that cut the visitors' deficit to a single goal at 5:40 of the second frame.
  • Simonson struck for the next four goals, sparking an 8-1 run that put the Purple Knights in control at 14-6 with 9:32 left in the contest. His final goal at 10:04 of the fourth, off of Reyes' pass, was the record breaker.
  • The Yellow Jackets scored three times in 43 seconds to rally within five at 4:20 en route to netting the game's final four goals.
