Women's Lacrosse Knocks Off Franklin Pierce, 13-9

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Junior Sophia Lynch (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) and sophomore Audrey Conover (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional) combined for nine goals as the Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team downed Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University, 13-9, on Wednesday at Duffy Field.

THE ACTION
  • Lynch scored just 12 seconds into the game before Ulmer tallied twice in a 3-1 response, and the visitors led by a goal at 14:06 of the second period.
  • The Purple Knights took control with a 7-1 run during which Conover registered all of her points on the day, four goals and one assist. Hamilton gave the hosts the lead for good at 4-3 with 6:48 to go in the second, and Conover scored her final three goals in a 4:11 span that bridged halftime. Saint Michael's led 9-4 on her goal 49 seconds into the third stanza.
  • After Hermsdorf capped the third period with two goals in 35 seconds to cut her team's deficit to three, three Purple Knights scored in a 3-0 run that opened the fourth frame and extended the lead to 12-6 with 6:34 remaining.
  • The Ravens scored three of the game's final four goals, but Nutter posted six of her saves in the final quarter alone to ensure the victory.
