Women's Lacrosse Earns Senior Day Victory Over AIC

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team picked up a key 18-4 Northeast-10 Conference victory over American International College on Saturday at Duffy Field during Senior Day. The Purple Knights head into their regular-season finale on Tuesday tied with Southern New Hampshire University for the eighth and final NE10 Championship position; Saint Michael's hosts the Penmen at 3 p.m. that day.
 
The Purple Knights honored seniors Brynn Bertucci (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick), Addy Fenton (Andover, Mass./Phillips Academy), Lois Manning (Little Compton, R.I./Portsmouth) and Abby Roman (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) prior to the contest.

  • Hamilton became the fourth player since the program began tracking draw controls in 1999 to notch double figures in a game. Her 51 this season tie Brynne Curran '08 (2007) for seventh in school annals.
  • The Purple Knights' five wins is their most since 2015.
THE ACTION
  • Six players scored as the Purple Knights forged a 9-1 lead by 10:40 of the second quarter, when Doherty scored a woman-up strike.
  • AIC put together a quick 2-1 spurt in a 2:56 stretch to draw within 10-3 with 3:23 left.
  • Five Saint Michael's players scored in a 7-0 response, with Lynch and Bertucci both scoring with their team a woman up.
