GAME FACTS
- With 16 wins the last two seasons, the Purple Knights had their best two-year stretch since totaling 22 victories between 2012 and 2013.
- During his final college game, Simonson set a school record for points in a season (68), besting the mark of 63 shared by Mike Riddell '88 (1988) and Matt Pagen '95 (1993). He also set a record for season assists (32), ahead of Mike Simonelli's '96 30-year-old record of 30. Simonson moved into 15th place in NE10 history in both career goals (134) and points (213), holding Saint Michael's records in each category. He finished fourth in program annals in assists (79), within seven of Brian Loughlin's '18 school standard.
- Wilson will graduate with program records for career faceoff wins (583) and ground balls (357) after setting standards for season wins (193) and ground balls (131) as a junior. He is seventh in NE10 history in career ground balls. With 147 wins and 86 ground balls this spring, each of the top three season figures in program annals in both categories belong to him. Wilson won at a 59.8% clip this year, the best by a Purple Knight since Jeff Disa '02 in 2002 (69.6%), and he will graduate fourth in career success rate (52.0%).
- In only three years as the Purple Knights' starting goalie, Regan finished fourth at Saint Michael's in career wins (20) and minutes (2,041:48) and sixth in saves (436).
- Reyes' 39 goals this year were the most by a Purple Knight since Pete Donnally '13 had 43 in 2012 and came within seven of Greg Lazarus' '08 18-year-old school record (46). He will finish tied for eighth in program history in career goals (90) and 10th in points (135) despite totaling only six goals and seven points as a first-year.
THE ACTION
- Adams' goal at 9:30 of the first quarter accounted for the only scoring in the first 10-plus minutes, as Regan made a pair of saves in that time and his teammates forced three turnovers.
- Bentley scored its next three goals in a 2:14 stretch, with Adams assisting the first two, and the hosts eventually forged a 10-1 lead by 4:23 of the third quarter.
- Reyes and Simonson had a hand in every goal during a 6-2 response that brought the Purple Knights within 12-7 with 8:32 left in regulation. Both notched four points in the stretch.
- That proved to be as close as the visitors would get, as the teams traded the final four goals.
