THE ACTION
- Saint Michael's used an 11-4 run to forge a 14-12 lead in the opening set. King's kill had her team up 21-20 before the visitors scored the next three points to take the final lead.
- Patterson's kill gave the Purple Knights a set-high six-point advantage at 18-12 in the second stanza before the Chargers stormed back and held set point six times. The hosts fought off each, ultimately netting the final three points on a kill and block by Tower and a block from Settles.
- Fifteen ties followed in set No. 3, and neither team led by more than two points until first-year Leila Ortiz's kill provided Dominican a 22-19 lead. The Purple Knights rattled off six of the final seven points to capture the 2-1 edge, with Marshall dropping two aces and Tower notching two kills in the run. Patterson posted the clinching kill.
- Dominican slowly opened an eight-point lead in the fourth set before Mediate's ace cut the deficit to 21-17, but De Iasi's pair of kills down the stretch ensured a fifth set.
- In the decider, De Iasi and Tody both had two kills during an opening 6-0 run. Patterson's kill brought the Purple and Gold within 9-7 but no closer.
