COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College is set to host the 16th Fiz's Drive, an American Red Cross-sponsored blood drive, on Wednesday, Oct. 1 in the Dion Family Student Center's third-floor Roy Event Room, from 12 to 6 p.m.
The blood drive, which is organized by the Saint Michael's Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts (MOVE), honors the legacy of
Mark Fizulich '97, a standout four-year member of the Saint Michael's men's basketball team and 2006 SMC Athletic Hall of Fame inductee who was lost to leukemia on March 9, 2008, at age 32. Upon graduation, Fizulich was sixth in program history in scoring (1,612). Please visit
RedCrossBlood.org and use the code "SMC" to schedule an appointment.
Donors will receive an Amazon e-gift card. For additional information about Fiz's Drive and how you can volunteer, contact

Over the first 15 years of the event, nearly 1,400 units of blood have been donated in Fizulich's honor, with each unit having the potential to save three lives, according to the American Red Cross. That means the annual drive has contributed to an effort to save more than 4,000 lives since it began in 2008.
