Women's Tennis Runs Record to 3-0, Downs 2025 NCAA Qualifier Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. - Seven players won as the Saint Michael's College women's tennis team defeated 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament qualifier Colby-Sawyer College, 6-1, on Wednesday at the Kelsey Courts. The Purple Knights knocked off a 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament squad for the second time this season, as the Chargers competed in the past 11 national championship tournaments.

  • Saint Michael's is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since beginning the 2012-13 season 4-0.

THE ACTION
  • Aldrete and Xu made their season debut together by blanking their foe at No. 3 doubles, moving to 6-1 all-time as a tandem. Gredenhag and McPherson followed with a clinching 6-4 win at No. 1 to give their team a 1-0 lead. The duo moved to 3-0 this season.
  • Larsen and Ricaurte nearly completed the sweep but lost a 7-5 decision in the second spot.
  • Xu (No. 4) and Ricaurte (No. 5) opened singles play by each dropping only one game in straight-set wins, and Larsen came through with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 to secure the team victory.
  • Rocha added a 6-3, 6-1 triumph in the sixth spot before McPherson claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1.
