Women's Tennis Extends Undefeated Start with Victory at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's tennis team extended its best start in 15 years with a 6-1 victory over Endicott College on Saturday at the South Campus Courts.

THE ACTION
  • The Purple Knights swept through doubles play, losing only seven games. Aldrete and Xu opened with a 6-2 win at No. 3 before Gredenhag and McPherson improved to 4-0 by also claiming a 6-2 victory in the top spot. Larsen and Ricaurte capped action with a 6-3 triumph in the second spot.
  • Larsen dropped only one game at No. 2 singles during a straight-set win, pushing her mark to 4-0. McPherson joined her at 4-0 by pushing to a 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 victory in the top spot before Gredenhag claimed the clinching win by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 count at No. 3.
  • Xu is now 4-0 after losing just two games in a win at No. 4, and Aldrete picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the sixth spot.
