CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - Three Saint Michael's College Alpine skiers finished top 25 in the slalom on Friday during day one of the season-opening Colby College Carnival at Sugarloaf Mountain. Junior Ada Jones (Williston, Vt./Green Mountain Valley School) led the way with a career-high 19th-place showing.
 
CARNIVAL FACTS

• Alpine scored eighth-place points among 13 schools (79.5), trimming Bates College (76) and Harvard University (65).
• Six of the Purple Knights' 13 competitors made their NCAA debuts on Friday.
