THE ACTION
- Brown had a kill and block by the time the Ravens led 5-1 in the opening set, but Mediate's ace had the hosts within 7-6. After King's kill again brought her team within one, at 8-7, Franklin Pierce rattled off eight of the next nine points to pull away.
- King and LaFrenier combined on a block in the second set that had Saint Michael's down just 4-3, but the Ravens extended their lead on the strength of a 15-6 run (19-9). The Purple Knights used a 10-5 stretch of their own, keyed by three LaFrenier kills and two Daggett aces, to make it 24-19, but Swanton dropped a clinching kill.
- Tower was instrumental in the Purple and Gold jumping out to an 8-2 lead in set No. 3, with two blocks, one kill and one ace by that juncture, when Daggett had two more aces. Brown had a kill while combining with Milosevic on two blocks during a 3-0 run that swung the Ravens in front, 20-19, but Almeida and Tower joined for a block that capped a 5-1 stretch and brought Saint Michael's to set point at 24-21. The visitors scored the final five points of the match, including the last three on Milosevic aces.
