GAME FACTS

  • Saint Michael's shot 12-of-27 (44.4%) from three-point range to Franklin Pierce's 8-for-17 (47.1%) for a key scoring advantage. The hosts were 24-of-28 on free throws to the visitors' 23-for-29.
THE ACTION
  • In a game that featured only one lead change, Parker scored the game's first bucket 21 seconds in before Briscoe tallied the next seven points, and the hosts never trailed.
  • Saint Michael's extended its lead to seven points three times in the opening half before carrying a 43-39 lead into the locker room.
  • Franklin Pierce twice tied the game in the first 2:21 of the second stanza, but Marold's lay-in off of a Briscoe feed at 17:18 put the hosts ahead for good. The Purple Knights later used a 10-2 run to lead 67-56 with 10:57 to go. Dumont netted half of the points, with all of the scoring coming from reserves.
  • The visitors crept within 71-68 on junior Jalen Duff's three-pointer at 6:49, but Littleton scored the next five points. Kenney's pair of free throws at 1:10 had his team up 90-82.
  • After Williams canned two freebies five seconds later, sophomore Zach Watson's breakaway basket at 20 ticks cut the deficit to four. With his team still down four, Parker was fouled shooting a three with three seconds to go. He made the first free throw but missed the second before missing the third intentionally, but Kenney snared the rebound and converted a pair of free throws to seal the victory.
