Knutsen and Preisler Claim Top-15 GS Showings at Williams Carnival

HANCOCK, Mass. - Saint Michael's College Alpine skiing sophomores Isabella Knutsen (Bergen, Vestland, Norway/Norges Toppidrettsgymnas Geilo) and Oscar Preisler (Ramsey, N.J./Green Mountain Valley School) both posted top-15 giant slalom finishes on Friday during the Williams College Carnival at Jiminy Peak.

CARNIVAL FACTS

The men's and women's Alpine teams combined for seventh-place points (113) on Friday, just ahead of Boston College (112.5) and narrowly short of fifth-place Colby College (122) and sixth-place Williams (115).
The women's Alpine team finished seventh in the giant slalom with 57 points, just behind sixth-place Colby (63) and fifth-place Williams (67).
The men took ninth (56) but were only 7.5 points out of the top five in a tight field.
Between the Alpine and Nordic skiing teams, Saint Michael's stands sixth among 14 schools at the carnival, with its 253 points six short of fifth-place Colby.
