Aj Sacco (Middleton, Mass./Islanders Hockey Club) was named Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Feb. 22, landing the accolade for the second straight week.
Sacco scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Southern New Hampshire University on Friday, potting a game-winner for the third straight contest. In the process, he tied
Michel Dupont's '98 29-year-old school record for winners in a season (5). Sacco is tied for the NE10 lead with two Assumption University players. Sacco also blocked a shot during a 2-0 loss on Saturday. He owns nine goals and eight assists as a rookie, registering four goals and two assists in the past four games.
At 16-11-3, the Purple Knights claimed the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NE10 Championship and will host a semifinal on Saturday at 3 p.m. The reigning NE10 champion, Saint Michael's will oppose the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 3 Saint Anselm College and No. 6 Southern New Hampshire.
