THE ACTION
  • Saint Anselm scored the first six points before Littleton's four-point play sparked an 8-0 response for the first of eight lead swings in the opening half.
  • Neither team led by more than four points until Morissette's three-pointer gave the Hawks a 30-24 lead at 5:55, but the Purple Knights rallied to tie on three occasions before halftime, twice on Briscoe buckets.
  • Onyia's tiebreaking free throws with 1:05 left sent Saint Anselm into the locker room with a 43-41 edge.
  • Four different Hawks knocked down threes in the first 3:36 of the second half before Davies' lay-up at 15:44 pushed the lead to 57-45.
  • The hosts were still up 65-55 after sophomore Greg Guidinger's trey at 11:00 before the Purple Knights used 6-of-8 shooting - including 3-of-3 from deep - during a tying 17-7 run, led by six points from Henaghen. Kenney's pair of freebies knotted the teams at 72 with 6:27 left.
  • Davies made a lay-up 18 seconds later to spark an 8-0 spurt, but Littleton's triple had Saint Michael's within 82-77 with 1:29 to go. Kenney came up with a steal shortly thereafter, and Littleton knocked down a jumper to make it a three-point game at 33 seconds.
