Men's Tennis Downs Daemen, 6-1, as Four Win Twice

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Four players won twice apiece as the Saint Michael's College men's tennis team downed Daemen University, 6-1, on Saturday in the Tarrant Recreation Center.

THE ACTION
  • The doubles tandems of Lundholm/Macpherson and Lin/van den Broek opened play by both blanking their opponents at No. 2 and 3, respectively, to clinch the 1-0 lead. The former duo improved to 6-3, while the latter is now 4-1.
  • Boban and Brooker closed the sweep with 6-4 victory in the top spot.
  • Van den Broek finished a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles before Lundholm moved to 8-2 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 and Macpherson nabbed a 6-4, 6-3 win in the third spot to clinch the team triumph.
  • Boban lost a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 decision in the second position before Koppelmans and Lin each lost only four games in straight-set wins at No. 5 and 6, respectively.
