VIERA WEST, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College softball team lost twice on Monday during the Space Coast Spring Games at the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Space Coast Complex. The Purple Knights fell to Wayne State (Mich.) University, 11-5, in the opener and against 2025 NCAA Tournament qualifier Minnesota State University, 14-2 in six innings, in the nightcap.

THE ACTION
- DeWitt's two-run homer keyed a four-run bottom of the first inning before the Purple Knights scored four runs of their own during the third inning. Bull singled home Branon, Davidson lifted a sac fly, and Liimatainen came through with the tying two-out, two-run double.
- Wayne State went back in front with two runs in the home half. DeWitt added an RBI knock in the fourth, and the Warriors pulled away with two more run-scoring hits in the fifth.

THE ACTION
- The Mavericks scored twice in the top of the first inning before Anderson and Lara knocked RBI singles to make it 4-0 in the fourth.
- Flaherty doubled in Edgerly in the fifth before coming around when first-year Shylee Karenbauer (Chicora, Pa./Butler Area) was plunked with the bases loaded.
- Minnesota State pulled away with 10 runs - nine of which were unearned - on six hits and two errors the following inning. Lara capped the frame with a three-run homer.
