VIERA WEST, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College softball team lost a pair of contests on Tuesday during the Space Coast Spring Games at the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Space Coast Complex. The Purple Knights fell to Mercy University, 8-1, and Ohio Dominican University, 8-0 in five innings.

THE ACTION
- First-year Makayla Rady knocked an RBI single in the bottom of the second before scoring a second run after Mammola singled and got caught in an inning-ending rundown.
- Jackson scored on an error in the third, but the Purple Knights got the run back courtesy of Liimatainen's sac fly in the fourth to make it 3-1.
- The Mavericks put the game away with five runs on six hits in the home half, keyed by Murphy's two-run double.

THE ACTION
- Loveday's RBI triple gave the Panthers a first-inning lead, and Schulte's two-out, two-run double pushed the lead to 3-0 in the home half of the second, scoring a pair of unearned runs.
- In between, Flaherty singled and sophomore Emma Nordahl (Holden, Mass./Saint Paul Diocesan Junior-Senior) reached on a fielder's choice to give Saint Michael's two on with one out in the second, but Grau retired the final two hitters.
- Wilson set down six of eight batters between the second and fourth innings before Ohio Dominican clinched the win with five runs on five hits in the fifth. Mueller hit a key two-run double before senior Saadie Maysonet came up with the walk-off RBI single.
