Plunkett and Silveira Earn NE10 Academic All-Conference for Winter Seasons

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's swimming & diving senior Ashley Silveira (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk) and men's ice hockey sophomore Evan Plunkett (Charlotte, N.C./Holderness School) were among 101 Northeast 10 Conference Academic All-Conference selections across seven sports for the winter athletic season. Silveira was recognized for the third time in her career, while Plunkett landed his initial accolade.

The NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, which were previously voted upon by athletic administrators at NE10 member schools, are now composed of student-athletes who 1) earned all-conference or all-defensive honors for their playing season, 2) have spent at least two consecutive full-time semesters at their institution, and 3) hold at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average.

Silveira, who holds a 3.98 GPA as a double major in anthropology and sociology, earned NE10 All-Conference third team honors after placing third in the one-meter diving at the NE10 Championship, becoming the College's first all-league diver in 16 years. She also became the fourth member of the women's swimming & diving program to land all-conference. Silveira won nine events during her senior season to finish seventh in school history with 22 career diving victories. Also the 2024-25 NE10 Elite Award winner, this is her 15th career academic accolade.

Plunkett, who totes a 3.41 GPA as a psychology major, was an NE10 All-Conference second team goalie for the second time and named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award, recognizing the top American-born player at NCAA Division II and III schools in New England. He finished second in the NE10 in wins (13), save percentage (.945) and goals-against average (1.96) and tied for second in shutouts (2). Plunkett was fourth in NCAA men's ice hockey across all divisions in save percentage and reset his own school marks for save percentage (.935) and GAA (2.22), recorded in 2024-25. With 64 saves in a triple-overtime loss to Saint Anselm College in an NE10 Championship semifinal on Feb. 28, he matched a mark set by Bill Heney '92 on Dec. 8, 1990. Plunkett already holds the school record for career shutouts (6) and enters his junior year first at Saint Michael's in save percentage (.940) and GAA (2.07) and tied for fourth in victories (27). This is his fourth career academic accolade.
