Women's Lacrosse Falls Against No. 22 Saint Anselm

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team led No. 22 Saint Anselm College early in the second half before losing 17-8 on Wednesday during Northeast 10 Conference play at Duffy Field. The Hawks' national ranking was according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

GAME FACTS
  • Hamilton's 12 draw controls tied for third-most by a Purple Knight since complete records became available in 1999. They were the most by a Purple Knight since Hope Alto '23 had 13 at Post University on Feb. 19, 2022, but the most by a Saint Michael's player in an NE10 game since SMC Athletic Hall of Fame Amanda Soule '08 set a program record with 16 at former NE10 counterpart Merrimack College on April 30, 2008.
THE ACTION
  • Saint Anselm led 3-1 when Herrick tallied at 3:54 of the first quarter, but Conover fed Hamilton at 2:48 before striking for the tying marker 45 seconds later. Doherty finished off a go-ahead 3-0 spurt by converting Sullivan's feed at 9:54 of the second frame.
  • Mawn scored 35 seconds before halftime, but Doherty again scored off of a Sullivan helper at 13:29 of the third quarter to put her team back in front at 5-4.
  • McDermod assisted Rowley at 11:58 before tallying 35 seconds later, but Hamilton forced the game's final tie at 11:05, only 18 seconds after McDermod gave the Hawks the lead.
  • Three Hawks scored in a 3-0 response that took 1:35 to elapse, sparking what became a game-changing 9-1 run. McDermod scored the final two goals, which staked the visitors to a 15-7 lead by 6:09 of the fourth.
