WALTHAM, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team opened its 2026 season with a 4-1 loss to Caldwell University on Thursday during the Northeast 10 Conference/Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Kickoff Classic at the Bentley University Soccer Field.

THE ACTION

• The Purple Knights went ahead in the seventh minute. After senior Marshall Butler (Middletown, Conn./Middletown) leaped for a header deep in the box and was taken down by Curado and a defender, Hendrie stepped up to bury a penalty kick.
• In the 29th minute, Uecker dove to deny first-year Hakon Lovstad's close-range shot in the box before the rebound popped to Bustios, who buried the tying strike.
• Ibarra netted the winner in the 59th minute, one-touching sophomore Roy Torjman's cross through the box despite Uecker's slight touch on a diving effort.
• Tecke (67th) and Castro (72nd) scored 4:25 apart to add insurance only minutes later.
