MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's and women's cross country teams both placed fifth among nine schools on Saturday during Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational. Both fields featured a trio of nationally-ranked NCAA Division III squads.
 
TEAM RESULTS

• The Purple Knight men were fifth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region poll, while the women stood seventh.
• The Saint Michael's men netted 139 points to trail fourth-place Clarkson University by 10. Williams College, ranked 19th in the USTFCCCA Division III national poll, won with 21 points. No. 6 Tufts University placed second (40) and No. 15 Middlebury was third (81).
• On the women's side, the Purple and Gold collected 139 points to come within 12 of fourth-place Endicott College. No. 2 Williams won (22), No. 5 Middlebury was runner-up (43), and No. 6 Tufts claimed third (67).
