COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's cross country junior
Jersey Miller (Minneapolis, Minn./Saint Louis Park) was named Northeast 10 Conference Runner of the Week and first-year
Kai McKinnon (Lake Placid, N.Y./Stratton Mountain School) landed NE10 Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Miller placed third in a time of 32:03.01 as Saint Michael's hosted the unique Equality Invitational 8K on Saturday on campus. The Purple Knights hosted what is believed to be the only 8K for women in NCAA cross country. Miller finished behind only a pair of runners from Division I University of Vermont while running an 8K PR. She has been the Purple and Gold's top finisher at all three races this year, claiming a pair of top-five showings.
McKinnon took eighth with a time of 33:47.45 at the Equality Invitational, trailing only six runners from UVM and Miller in the race. She registered her highest finish this season while occupying the Purple Knights' second scoring position for the second consecutive meet.
The Saint Michael's men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Friday at Lehigh University's Paul Short Run. The men's "green" race begins at 3:30 p.m. before the women start at 4:15 p.m.
