Field Hockey Loses to Mansfield at Kutztown Tournament

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team lost to Mansfield University, 8-1, on Sunday during the Kutztown University Invitational at Andre Reed Stadium.

THE ACTION
  • Czekai's 18th-minute goal off of a rebound following a Foecking save gave the Mounties a 3-0 lead.
  • Nigolian nearly put the Purple Knights on the board during a corner sequence shortly thereafter but was stopped by sophomore Jordan Brunnabend's defensive save.
  • Saint Michael's broke through on a corner set in the 47th minute. Following first-year Kira DeBaggis' (Mendon, Mass./Nipmuc Regional) insert pass, Nigolian slipped the ball to Harrington, whose shot from the middle of the circle found the left side of the net.
