A former captain at Middlebury College, Jed Sass heads into his third season as a Saint Michael's men's soccer assistant coach in 2025. Sass has coached with the Far Post Soccer Club since 2020 and was a counselor at the Vermont Soccer School from 2015 to 2017.
In summer 2025, Sass served as an assistant coach for the Vermont Green FC, which ended the season 16-0-3 en route to capturing the United Soccer Leagues (USL) League Two national championship with a 2-1, stoppage-time win in the final before a packed Virtue Field in Burlington.
Sass graduated from Middlebury in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in geography and a minor in Spanish. The White River Junction, Vt., native notched four goals and two assists in 48 career games out of the midfield while helping the Panthers go 44-16-10 overall with an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2017, when he served as a senior captain. Sass was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and earned his program's Richard B. Sumner Memorial Athletic Award as the most inspirational player his senior year. A magna cum laude graduate, Sass was a four-time College Scholar Award recipient and a three-time New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic honoree.
