LAURINBURG, N.C. - The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse
team (1-4) earned its first victory of the season on Thursday with
a 12-11 overtime win at Saint Andrews Presbyterian College.
Junior Eliza Scoba (Franklin, Mass./Franklin)
tallied a team-high three goals and added an assist in the win.
Senior Joan Colloton (Albany, N.Y./Academy of the Holy
Names) added two goals, including the overtime
game-winner, while classmate Elizabeth Siekman (Cheshire,
Conn./Chesire) and freshman Claire Martin
(Mattapoisett, Mass./Bishop Stang) also scored two goals
apiece. Junior Sandy Palumbo (Guilford,
Conn./Guilford) stopped 13 shots to help Ashley
Hughes earned her first victory as a collegiate head
coach.
For SAPC (1-7), Megan Jolly had a game-high
four goals and an assist, while Kim Mcdaniel added
three goals. Victoria Bickett scored twice, while
Morgan Achilles recorded nine saves.
Saint Michael's returns to action on March 26 with a 12 p.m.
game at Northeast-10 Conference rival Le Moyne College.
