- Heter knocked down the opener jumper 26 seconds into the contest before Gardner came up with a steal and a bucket to make it 4-0 by 17:49 of the first half.
- Vermont responded with a 10-1 run before Gardner's jumper cut the deficit to 10-7, and another Gardner basket had Saint Michael's within 12-9 at 14:50.
- The Catamounts scored 20 of the next 25 points, interrupted only by a Gardner three-pointer and a put-back.
- Crews knocked down a jumper at 8:25 before burying a three of his own at 7:52, snapping a streak of Gardner scoring 12 consecutive Purple Knight points.
- Saint Michael's rallied within 14 twice before halftime, on threes by Oyigbo and Heter at 4:36 and 2:58, respectively, before Vermont led 53-31 at the intermission.
- The visitors employed a 7-3 spurt to trail 57-38 at 18:13 of the second stanza before the Catamounts went on a 19-2 run.
- The Purple Knights held a 17-12 scoring advantage during an ensuing 4:32 stretch, when five different players scored. Gardner netted five points, while Crews and Williams both had four.
