- Redshirt junior Jaylen Colon had four points as Felician took a 6-0 lead, but Gardner put home a pair of baskets to help Saint Michael's trail 8-6 by 15:48 of the opening half.
- First-year Stefano Spassof's (Athens, Greece/ACS Athens) lay-in at 11:05 kept the Purple Knights within 17-15, but McCarthy scored 13 points in a 17-5 run that pushed the Golden Falcons in front by a 34-20 count at 5:19.
- The visitors twice trimmed the deficit to 10, including at 36-26 on a Button basket at 1:13, before trailing by 12 at halftime.
- Saint Michael's came within nine points three times early in the second half, including as Button dropped in a lay-up at 18:14 to make it 42-33.
- Down 48-37 following senior Jason Heter's (Andover, N.J./Newton) jumper with 14:45 left, the Purple Knights yielded a 15-2 spurt over a 3:06 stretch that included three straight three-pointers, with two coming off the hands of redshirt junior Etnik Peci. Saint Michael's never again trailed by fewer than 17 points.
