BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost a 2-0 New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) decision to Stonehill College in the programs' first meeting on Friday at Bridgewater Ice Arena. The teams complete their NEWHA weekend series on Saturday.

THE ACTION
- Junior Mary Leys (Newport, R.I./Saint George's School) nearly gave the Purple Knights an early lead but rung the post at 4:29 of the opening period.
- Both teams killed one penalty over the first 20 minutes, when Mudrak finished with eight saves.
- Whaley potted what proved to be the game-winner at 4:04 of the second period. After a giveaway along the boards, first-year Bailey Feeney made a centering pass from the right circle, finding Whaley for a tip-in at the left post.
- The Purple Knights went on a power play at 9:21 of the third period looking to draw even, but the only shots attempted in that time were by Stonehill, with Mudrak turning all three aside.
- During a Skyhawk power play, Barrett passed from between the circles down low for Mendeszoon, who tipped home an insurance marker at 15:40.
