THE ACTION
- Sophomore Nathalie Larsson (Gothenburg, Sweden/Sjölins Gymnasium/Morningside) sent a shot from the edge of the box in the 12th minute that Ewen needed to jump to catch.
- Bentley broke through at the 16-minute mark, as sophomore Gabby Vachon's pass to senior Brooke Jones was touched past the back line, sending O'Connor in alone on Escobedo.
- Escobedo averted further damage with leaping saves in the 40th and 41st minute, including denying first-year Scarlett D'Amico's latter bid by tapping the ball back to herself and regaining her balance on the goal line.
- The netminder again turned D'Amico away in the 66th minute, going low to stop her redirection from out front.
- Senior Liliana Silva was sent on a breakaway in the 82nd minute, but Escobedo came out of her net to challenge the bid and make a big save.
- In the waning minutes, senior Izzy Ruprecht (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) sent a shot from the right side of the box in the 87th minute, but Ewen dove to catch the ball with a pair of Purple Knights crashing on the far side.
