  • This marked the 29th time in its past 33 outings since 2019 that Saint Michael's played a contest decided by one goal or less, including the 16th 1-0 game.
  • Saint Michael's won at AIC for the first time since Oct. 11, 2008. Each of its last five wins against the Yellow Jackets, regardless of site, has come by a 1-0 final.
  • AIC is 1-7-2 since a 4-0-1 start.

THE ACTION

  • AIC had an early chance, but sophomore Gabrielle Williams slid to try knocking a shot toward net from the right corner of the box while under pressure from a Purple Knight back as Escobedo slid out to meet them.
  • Escobedo and the Purple Knight defense fended off four Yellow Jacket corner kick opportunities between the 26th and 29th minutes, with the final one yielding a shot pushed wide.
  • Saint Michael's went ahead in the latter portion of the contest. After Page's throw-in, DelVecchio bodied the ball to space, where Kosiba took the pass, switched feet, and picked the upper right corner from 25 yards with 73:38 gone.
  • AIC had another corner kick sequence in the 76th minute that ended with Williams sending a ball off frame.
  • The hosts had another tying bid with 36 seconds left, with graduate student Caroline Porter finding space out front but pushing a shot wide right.
