WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Omar Alers Rivera (San Sebastián, Puerto Rico/Escuela Antolina Vélez Interamericana de Aguadilla) struck for his first college goal in the 72nd minute to send the Saint Michael's College men's soccer team past the University of New Haven, 2-1, on Saturday at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
With one regular-season game remaining, the Purple Knights are tied for ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, just one point outside the top eight. The NE10 takes the top eight into its postseason.

- The Purple Knights went ahead in the 72nd minute. First-year Jack Andrews (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) centered to senior Isaiah McCaskill (Springfield, Mass./Springfield Renaissance School/Becker), who changed direction in the middle of the box while closely guarded and had the ball knocked off his foot, but a trailing Alers Rivera pounced on the loose ball and drilled a close-range shot that redirected off of a Charger field player and in.
- Boudreau denied a late bid by New Haven, leaping to punch a cross directly upwards before jumping to secure the ball under pressure midway through the 89th minute.
