THE ACTION

• Saint Michael's gained an early power-play opportunity with just 2:49 gone in the opening period, and McGillis and sophomore Angelina Ruiz (Independence, Minn./Gentry Academy) followed by both putting shots on net that Stephen denied. Late in the woman advantage, sophomore Megan McCormick countered at the other end, potting a shorthanded marker at 4:45.
• Nolan struck on the power play at 15:18 before Vasdani (18:22) and Nolan (19:33) scored 1:11 apart late in the stanza. Junior Emma Roland scored 38 seconds into the second period to cap a stretch of three goals in a matter of 2:16.
• The Tigers scored twice more later in the second frame and third stanza apiece.
