THE ACTION
- Three players scored in helping Saint Michael's take a 7-2 lead on Slaven's three-pointer at 5:21 of the opening quarter, but the hosts ended the period on an 11-3 run. Macary's jumper at 16 seconds had her team up 13-10.
- The Purple Knights opened the second quarter with the first 13 points, with Slaven, graduate student Emma MacDonough (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) and junior Jaxson Nadeau (Wakefield, Mass./Tilton School) all knocking down triples. Slaven's trey made it 23-13 by 4:51, and Kapral's lay-in with 27 seconds go to had the visitors ahead 27-18 at halftime.
- MacDonough's jumper still had the Purple Knights up 32-27 with 3:51 left in the third quarter before Franklin Pierce scored the next 17 points.
- Kapral put home consecutive buckets at 8:22 and 7:36 of the fourth period to bring Saint Michael's within 44-36, but the Raven scored 16 of the final 18 points.
