DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Junior Romar Reid (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Woodstock Academy/Manhattan) played a hand in 11 points during a game-ending 13-4 run, including scoring the go-ahead hoop, as the Saint Michael's College men's basketball team rallied past Mercy College, 66-58, on Saturday in the Judge Student Athlete Center.

THE ACTION
- Dunks by Kabimba and Brown highlighted an opening stretch that saw the Purple Knights lead 13-3 by the time Crews hit a three-pointer at 13:39 of the first stanza.
- Mercy wiped out a 21-12 deficit with a 10-0 run, as Smith netted five of the points, and Joe's triple at 5:32 gave his team the lead.
- The visitors responded with a 10-2 run, keyed by five straight Brown points, to make it 31-24 by 2:30. The Purple and Gold led 34-26 at halftime thanks in large part to Brown's 11 points.
- Four points from Kabimba and a free throw by Brown at 18:30 gave Saint Michael's a 13-point lead early in the second stanza.
- Five Mavericks scored as the hosts scored the next nine points, with senior Garrett Kirkland's three-pointer creating a 39-35 margin by 14:04.
- Saint Michael's twice pushed its lead back to nine, but Mercy pulled in front on the strength of a late 8-0 run, with Smith scoring the first five points before Kirkland hit the go-ahead triple at 3:30 (54-53).
- Reid countered with a baseline runner at the other end 23 seconds later and knocked down a key triple with 2:36 to go, giving the visitors a 58-54 edge. After Brown and Smith traded baskets, Reid fed Brown for a dunk with 50 seconds to go and hit a pair of freebies at both 27.4 and 12.8 ticks to ice the win.
