THE ACTION
- AIC twice led by four points before a 13-4 run swung the lead in the Purple Knights' favor, 24-19, by 8:26 of the opening half. Reid scored five points and dished to Brzezinski for a three-pointer, while Houde and Kabimba each assisted a bucket by the other.
- Senior Dario Milojevic's (Windsor, Ontario/Herman Academy/Mississippi Valley State) dunk with 36 seconds remaining sent the hosts into the intermission with a 38-33 edge.
- AIC came out of the locker room with 19 of the first 26 points, as consecutive baskets by Jordan had his team in front 52-45 by 10:43.
- The teams combined for only 20 points from there, with the Purple Knights limiting the Yellow Jackets to 2-for-14 shooting with two turnovers in the final 9:33. In the meantime, Crews buried three threes, including as he drew Saint Michael's within 59-58 with 41 seconds to go.
- After AIC missed at the other end with 16 ticks left, Hall forced a turnover in front of the Saint Michael's bench at three seconds, stripping the ballhandler before diving to secure the loose ball. A teammate missed an ensuing free throw, but the Purple Knights' desperation heave from midcourt at the buzzer was offline.
