Men's Basketball Downed on Road by Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost to Franklin Pierce University, 66-40, on Wednesday evening in the FPU Fieldhouse. The Northeast-10 Conference foes were both ranked in this week's D2SIDA East Region Media Poll, with the Ravens seventh and the Purple Knights eighth.

THE ACTION

  • The teams exchanged seven leads in the opening half, with Kabimba, junior Romar Reid (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Woodstock Academy/Manhattan) and Duniver all hitting go-ahead hoops. Duniver's three-pointer from the right wing gave Saint Michael's a 15-14 edge at 9:28.
  • The Ravens ended the half on a 20-2 run, with six players scoring, including as Kolek buried three triples.
  • Kabimba snagged an offensive board before stepping out for a three that brought Saint Michael's within 36-23 at 17:22 of the second half, the first of three 13-point deficits in 3:10, but Kolek hit a three with 13:54 to go, and the Ravens never again led by fewer than 12 points.
