Men's Ice Hockey Falls at 12th-Ranked Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team lost to No. 12 Babson College, 9-1, on Friday afternoon in the Babson Skating Center. The Beavers' national ranking is according to the latest U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III national poll.

  • Murphy scored twice in a 4:03 span of the opening period to give Babson a 2-0 lead by 11:35.
  • The Beavers tallied five goals in the second frame, with Torrez (3:05) and Kramer (4:26) potting markers 1:21 apart early in the frame. The hosts netted a trio during a major penalty in the latter portion of the stanza.
  • Taylor got Saint Michael's on the board at 13:02 of the third period, tapping home McCarthy's cross-ice pass, sandwiching his goal between a pair of Babson goals.
