- Saint Michael's outshot the Bentley from three-point range, 45.5%-33.3%, while holding a 17-8 lead in bench points. The Falcons held a slim lead in rebounding (26-21), while both teams pulled seven offensive boards.
THE ACTION
- Bentley scored the first seven points, including four by Ceppi, en route to leading 13-2 by 4:49 of the first quarter.
- Blake responded with a three-pointer 23 seconds later to trim the deficit to eight points, and MacDonough's jumper at 30 seconds made it 22-11.
- During a second quarter that saw Saint Michael's hold a 19-18 scoring lead, Brophy buried a triple just before the halftime buzzer to keep the visitors within 42-30 by the intermission.
- MacDonough's jumper kept the Purple Knights trailing by 12 (44-32) at 9:06 of the third before Bentley went ahead by as many as 18 points, but Kapral netted her team's first four points of the fourth stanza to twice create a 13-point margin, including at 63-50 with 7:58 to go.
- Between that juncture and Ceppi's basket with 3:33 left, senior Kolleen Bouchard's free throws at 6:06 were the only points scored by either team, as Bentley slowly salted away the victory.
