NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost to regionally-ranked Southern Connecticut State University, 67-48, after trailing by six points at halftime on Tuesday during Northeast-10 Conference play in Moore Field House. The Owls are seventh in this week's D2SIDA East Region Media Poll.

THE ACTION
- Neither team led by more than four points until Santoro's three-pointer gave the Owls a 12-7 edge at 2:39 of the opening quarter, and the hosts twice led by seven points in the initial frame.
- Back-to-back triples from Kapral and Brophy put Saint Michael's in front, 17-16, at 7:16 of the second, the first of four lead swings in a matter of 2:20.
- Amalbert's trey capped an 8-0 run, making it 29-23 in favor of the hosts by 3:37, but the Purple Knights were within 29-28 on Brophy's triple (1:46) and 33-30 on Blake's jumper (0:44).
- Connors' three 28 seconds before halftime kicked off a 19-4 run, during which Santoro scored eight points. Amalbert netted the final four points, giving Southern Connecticut State a 52-34 lead at 1:55 of the third quarter, and the visitors never came closer than 13 points from there.
