THE ACTION

  • Franklin Pierce held only a 15-12 edge in shots during the first period but forged a 2-0 lead in that stanza. Kison beat Mudrak to her glove side from the slot just 1:41 into the game, and Casey also went glove side from the low slot during a power play with 14:44 gone.
  • After a second-period giveaway deep in the Purple Knight zone, Dumond finished from close range at 7:35.
  • The Purple Knights got one goal back at 12:36. Sophomore Grace Canterbury (Eagle River, Alaska/Shattuck-Saint Mary's School) dangled around a Raven before dishing to junior Emma Kelly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin School), who passed into the slot for Fisher, where the rookie one-time chipped the shot over Hertl's glove shoulder.
  • With only 35 seconds remaining in the contest, Kelley lifted a second shot over Mudrak from a tough angle after the netminder denied Kison's initial attempt.
