COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team was tied with nationally-regarded Southern New Hampshire University with less than two minutes remaining on Saturday before yielding the final eight points in a 61-53 Northeast-10 Conference loss at the Ross Sports Center. The Penmen received votes toward this week's D2SIDA National Media Poll while sitting third in the D2SIDA regional rankings.

- Saint Michael's played its third game in a five-game run that features five of the top seven teams in this week's D2SIDA East Region Media Poll. This was also the second time in three games the Purple Knights faced a team receiving national votes.
- MacDonough became the 13th player in program history to make 100 career three-pointers.
THE ACTION
- In a game that featured only three ties and two lead changes, Timberlake hit a three-pointer 17 seconds into the game before Roy's triple extended the Penmen advantage to 12-3 at 5:47 of the opening quarter.
- Roy's jumper made it 26-16 with 5:55 left in the second period before Saint Michael's responded with a 20-7 run that bridged halftime. Laggis and MacDonough both scored five points, Blake's lay-in at 9:03 of the third quarter tied the game (33-33), and Brophy's three-point play 30 seconds later gave the hosts their first lead (36-33).
- Consecutive Knight buckets capped a 6-0 spurt that gave the Penmen a 39-36 edge, but MacDonough's mid-range jumper forced another tie (42-42) at 2:12.
- Timberlake drained a three just 12 seconds later, and senior Ariana Koivisto's triple at 55 seconds had the visitors up six.
- Slaven hit two critical triples in the latter stages of the fourth quarter, with her first bringing Saint Michael's within 51-50 at 5:28 and the second tying the teams at 53 with 1:50 remaining.
- Timberlake connected for a pair of free throws 14 seconds later, and the Purple Knights' go-ahead three-point attempt near the end of the shot clock on the next possession was offline. Roy made a pair of freebies at 1:06 before hitting two more at 41 ticks after another Saint Michael's three-point miss.
