THE ACTION
  • Sophomore Petagay Dixon got behind the Saint Michael's defense in the fourth minute before rushed through the middle of the box and slipping a shot on net that Anastopoulos slid out to knock away.
  • The Purple Knights broke through with three goals in a matter of 4:13 near the middle of the stanza. Crowell slid a low shot from the right corner of the box at 21:22 after taking Kosiba's cross. Only 1:35 later, Kosiba snuck a low ball from the right side thanks to Crowell's cross.
  • In the 26th minute, Crowell's through ball put Tofteroo alone on Thaw, with an initial shot cleared off the goal line by sliding senior Naylea Beltran-Mendoza, but the ricochet went off of a pursuing Tofteroo for the tally.
  • Crowell added a second goal in the 56th minute, being led directly to goal thanks to junior Nathalie Larsson's (Gothenburg, Sweden/Sjölins Gymnasium/Morningside) flick-on header from 30 yards out.
