Shaw Notches First Career Goal, Purple Knights Beat Chargers, 3-0

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Bridget Shaw (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) tallied her first career goal as the Saint Michael's College women's soccer team defeated the University of New Haven, 3-0, on Wednesday at Kathy Zolad Stadium during Northeast-10 Conference play.

THE ACTION
  • Kosiba netted her fourth goal of the season in the 21st minute of the match after McGiffert sent a shot that Daley saved and Kosiba took a one-timer on the rebound to put the Purple and Gold on top.
  • On a corner kick, Winters found Gikas, who sent a cross into Shaw who took a shot on the volley to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 38th minute.
  • Tofteroo scored her sixth goal of the year goal after stealing an errant back pass to the goalkeeper and slotting the ball into an open net in the 77th minute.
