SPARKILL, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team lost to Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 4-1, on Sunday during Northeast-10 Conference action at Spartan Field. The Purple Knights take on Molloy College on Monday to cap the two-game New York swing.

THE ACTION
- O'Connor denied junior Nicola Van Vuuren's shot from the right side of the circle in the sixth minute before senior Olivia Cerbo pounced on the rebound and found Alfisi for the go-ahead strike at 5:27.
- O'Connor kicked away a cross in the ninth minute, but Paraskos corralled the loose ball and scored from the center of the circle.
- Cuen and senior Erin Bacalles worked a give-and-go during an 18th-minute corner sequence, with Cuen slipping a shot into the right side to make it 3-0.
- Verstraten scored from out front in the 37th minute, and Loughlin nearly countered in the 41st but rung the post.
- Saint Michael's took all six of the shots and all six penalty corners in the fourth quarter, breaking through in the 51st minute when Loughlin tallied from atop of the circle following Cathcart's corner entry.
