THE ACTION
  • Loughlin put Saint Michael's ahead to stay in the seventh minute, carrying under double pressure from midfield into the circle before steadying herself and slipping a shot into the lower right.
  • Senior Danielle Cummings' (Swanton, Vt./Missisquoi Valley Union) 14th-minute lead pass sent Biondi into the circle, where she finished into the far side of the cage.
  • Sakhat countered 34 seconds later, rolling a shot from the edge of the circle home with 14:18 gone.
  • Loughlin reestablished the two-goal lead in the 26th minute, beating the defense down the field to catch up with junior Rees Lord's (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) long aerial pass from her own end and zooming past the netminder and a back, who had committed to her stick side, to finish on an empty cage.
  • Comiskey made it 4-1 3:22 later, forcing a takeaway in the midfield before carrying into the circle and flicking a shot into the lower left at 28:53.
  • An unmarked Ortiz-Moore brought Molloy within two goals in the 40th minute, redirecting junior Bella Bigeni's end line cross five-hole on O'Connor.
