  • The Purple Knights scored a shorthanded marker of their own in the waning seconds. After Ciancio blocked a shot from the slot, Dukes moved the puck to Allain, who founded a skating Ciancio. • Just 30 seconds into overtime, junior Artem Mateichenko got behind the Purple Knight defense for a brief breakaway on Murphy, who turned him aside.
  • The 3-on-3 extra session ended near the midway point, as Dukes slid a pass through the slot toward the right post, where Macdonald had a stride on his man and tipped the winner home with 2:34 gone.
